VICTRON ENERGY

Phoenix 24/250 120V GFCI Pure Sine Inverter

Power suitable 120V AC equipment from a compatible 24V battery bank. This exact Victron 24/250 VE.Direct inverter has a GFCI outlet and a 250VA apparent-power rating, with 200W continuous real-power output at 25°C and 175W at 40°C.

Match the battery voltage before choosing the size

The PIN242510510 accepts a nominal 24V DC battery bank within a 18.4–34V DC input range. It is not interchangeable with a different battery-voltage version of the same inverter family. Check the highest charging voltage, lowest planned battery voltage and cable voltage drop against that range before designing the installation.

Compare watts and VA separately

This model is rated 250VA at 25°C, while continuous real-power output is 200W at 25°C or 175W at 40°C. The manufacturer lists a separate 400W peak rating. Do not treat VA, continuous watts and peak watts as the same limit. Add the running loads and check the startup requirements of motors, compressors and electronic power supplies before choosing an inverter.

Choose the correct AC outlet and output

This is the 120V GFCI outlet version, rather than a standard NEMA 5-15R outlet or a 230V regional model. The nominal AC output is 120V ±3%, with supported 50Hz or 60Hz frequency configuration. Select the frequency required by the connected equipment and installation. The manufacturer identifies UL458 for the GFCI-output variants; this does not make the inverter a grid-interactive home interconnection system.

Use a pure sine output for compatible equipment

The inverter converts battery DC into a pure sine AC output for suitable loads. Its full-bridge and toroidal-transformer design includes overload, temperature and short-circuit protection. Those protections are part of the inverter; the battery installation still requires appropriate cables and circuit protection. The source battery must provide the load power plus inverter losses.

Configure through VE.Direct

VE.Direct supports configuration and supported status information with compatible accessories. A VE.Direct-to-USB interface is needed for the documented computer connection, or an optional VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle for supported local wireless access. Bluetooth is not built into this exact model. Communication accessories are separate purchases; do not assume it has the native Bluetooth features of a Smart inverter.

Consider ECO mode for light or intermittent loads

Normal zero-load consumption is listed as 5.2W, with default ECO-mode zero-load consumption of 1.3W. ECO mode uses periodic load detection, with an adjustable search interval and thresholds. Very small or intermittent loads may need different settings to remain powered as intended. Choose and test those settings with the actual equipment rather than assuming the lowest standby figure suits every application.

Coordinate battery cutoffs and remote control

The documented adjustable low-voltage shutdown reference is 18.6V, with a restart/alarm reference of 21.8V. Dynamic cutoff can make shutdown behavior depend on load when properly configured. Set limits to suit the battery manufacturer’s requirements and any BMS. A compatible remote on/off switch can connect to the control terminal; the external switch and its wiring are separate.

Install in a protected, ventilated location

The GFCI version measures 85 × 182 × 255mm in height, width and depth and weighs approximately 2.4kg. It has IP21 protection, screw-terminal battery connections and a maximum conductor cross-section of 10mm² / AWG8. That terminal limit is not a cable-sizing recommendation. The operating range is -40°C to +65°C with derating at higher temperatures; allow the required cooling space and keep the inverter protected from outdoor exposure.

What is included?

One exact PIN242510510 24/250 120V VE.Direct GFCI inverter. Battery, battery cables, fuses, charger, solar equipment, optional communication interfaces and any transfer switch are separate. This is a standalone inverter, rather than a complete solar generator or a battery-charging inverter/charger.

Will it charge the battery or switch between AC sources?

No battery charger or automatic AC transfer switch is built into this product. Select those functions separately when needed, or compare a suitable inverter/charger. The VE.Direct inverter is not a VE.Bus unit for building a parallel or split-phase inverter bank. Match the complete electrical arrangement to the intended equipment and installation.
