Charge a compatible 24V battery from a 12V source

Victron ORI122436140 is the Orion-Tr Smart 12/24-15A (360W) non-isolated charger. It provides controlled DC-DC charging for compatible lead-acid or lithium auxiliary batteries, with adjustable charge settings through VictronConnect.

Choose the correct voltage and grounding arrangement

This exact model uses a nominal 12V input and a nominal 24V output. Its non-isolated design shares a common negative connection between input and output. Choose a different model if your installation requires galvanic isolation or a different voltage conversion.

Set a charging profile through Bluetooth

Built-in Bluetooth supports configuration and monitoring with the VictronConnect app. Adaptive charging uses bulk, absorption and float stages; select settings suitable for your battery and its BMS requirements before use. This model has no VE.Direct port, and its app does not report input or output current.

Manage charging while the engine runs

Engine-running detection and remote on/off control help manage charger operation in a properly configured vehicle installation. Verify alternator capacity, battery specifications, cable sizes and external fuse protection with your installer.

Understand its power rating

The charger supplies 15A continuously at 40°C, with 360W continuous output at 40°C and up to 430W at 25°C. Output depends on input voltage, temperature and settings. The 18–30V adjustment range is not permission to use an unsuitable battery profile.

Plan a protected installation

Mount the unit with terminals facing down, allow ventilation, and follow the manual's wiring and protection instructions. Protection is IP43 for the electronics and IP22 at the connections in the specified mounting orientation. It is not a waterproof outdoor unit or a solar MPPT controller.
