Choose a DC input, not household AC

The 110V designation describes a nominal DC input. This converter must not be selected as though it were a 120V AC wall-powered adapter. The source must stay within the specified 60–140V DC range and suit the installation’s electrical design. Have a qualified installer select the high-voltage source connection, protection and wiring.

Match the low-voltage equipment

This exact ORI110123610 is the 110/12-30A model with a 12.5V output. It is not the separate 110/24-15A version. The manufacturer lists a 360W power rating for the isolated 110V family. Check the actual load’s voltage tolerance, continuous draw and startup demand rather than selecting a converter from nominal voltage alone.

Use isolation where the system needs it

The manufacturer specifies more than 400Vrms isolation between input, output and case. This provides a separated conversion path for an appropriately designed system. It does not remove the need for suitable grounding, insulation and circuit protection around the high-voltage source. Confirm the complete system arrangement before connecting other grounded equipment.

Check regulation and conversion losses

The datasheet lists 2% output-voltage stability, 3% output-voltage tolerance and less than 50mV RMS output noise. Efficiency is approximately 85%, with off-load current below 25mA. The input source must provide output power plus conversion losses, so the 360W output rating is not the source’s complete power requirement.

Allow for fan cooling and temperature

Cooling is fan assisted and temperature controlled. The normal operating range is -20°C to +40°C, with output derating linearly to zero at 70°C. Keep ventilation clear and follow the mounting instructions so heat can leave the enclosure. A hot installation may require a lower load than the headline power rating.

Plan the physical connection

The anodised aluminium unit measures 82 × 132 × 190mm in height, width and depth and weighs about 1.4kg. Connections use 6.3mm / 0.25-inch push-on flat-blade connectors. Installation wiring and protective devices are selected separately. Choose a protected location with space for the terminals, cooling and service access.

This is a regulated DC-DC converter. It does not provide an adaptive battery-charging algorithm or a household AC output. If the project requires a battery-specific charging profile, choose a suitable charger. If it requires AC loads, select an appropriate inverter and the rest of the required system equipment.

Compare source voltage over its full operating range, output-voltage tolerance, load power, required isolation and ambient temperature before ordering.
