VICTRON MULTIPLUS-II INVERTER/CHARGER

24V battery power, 120V AC output and integrated charging

The Victron MultiPlus-II 24/5000/120-95 combines a 5kVA inverter, a 120A battery charger and a 95A transfer switch in one system component. Its continuous real-power rating is 4,000W at 25°C.

Exact model PMP242505110. Battery bank, installation equipment and optional monitoring accessories are sold separately.

Build a 24V off-grid or backup system around the MultiPlus-II

The PMP242505110 is a 120V inverter/charger for a properly designed 24V battery installation. It converts stored DC battery energy into AC power and recharges the bank when a suitable generator, shore-power or utility AC source is available. It fits projects that need coordinated battery charging, AC transfer and inverter operation rather than separate devices for each function.

Match the power rating to your appliances

This model is rated at 5,000VA and 4,000W continuous output at 25°C. At 40°C the continuous real-power rating is 3,700W. Use the watt rating and temperature conditions when calculating appliance loads; 5kVA does not mean 5,000W continuous. The listed peak power is 9,000W, and starting-load suitability still depends on the appliance, battery bank and installation.

Make better use of limited AC input

PowerControl allows an installer to set an AC input current limit so charging can adjust to the available supply. PowerAssist can supplement limited generator, shore or grid input with battery power during brief demand peaks. When demand falls, available AC capacity can recharge the battery. These functions need suitable settings and do not increase the ratings of your wiring, circuit protection or incoming connection.

Separate essential loads from AC-only loads

The main AC output supplies connected loads through inverter operation when the AC input disappears. Victron specifies transfer in less than 20 milliseconds. A second output is energized only while external AC is available, allowing selected loads to stay off the battery. Plan the two load groups with your installer before sizing the system.

Add solar and monitoring to suit your project

Solar charging requires a separate compatible solar charge controller or an appropriately designed AC-coupled arrangement. For connected system monitoring, add a compatible GX device such as Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX and an internet connection for VRM access. Bluetooth monitoring requires the optional VE.Bus Smart dongle; this listing does not include built-in Bluetooth or a GX display.

What you are buying

One Victron MultiPlus-II 24/5000/120-95 120V inverter/charger, SKU PMP242505110. The 24V battery bank, battery BMS where required, solar panels, solar controller, DC cables, fuses, disconnects, AC wiring and optional communications accessories are separate purchases. Confirm installation supplies and package contents against the manufacturer manual before ordering.

Plan the complete system before purchase

  • Battery voltage: use a bank and charging settings appropriate for this 24V model.
  • AC output: one unit supplies 120V AC. Do not treat it as a single-unit 120/240V split-phase inverter.
  • Installation: allow ventilation, cable access and a protected location appropriate for the IP22 enclosure.
  • Configuration: review the required programming interface and commissioning process with the installer.

MultiPlus-II buying questions

Can one unit run 240V equipment?

One unit has 120V output. Victron documents split-phase operation using two units of the same model with the required configuration. A second inverter and the rest of that installation are not included.

Is this an all-in-one solar inverter?

It combines a battery inverter, AC battery charger and transfer function. It does not include an MPPT solar charge controller, solar panels or stored battery energy.

How do I choose between the 24V and 48V models?

Start with the DC voltage of the planned battery bank and compatible system equipment. A different bank voltage changes the required battery arrangement and DC installation design. Choose the exact inverter model for that design, rather than comparing only the 5kVA label.

Does a product-family certification apply to this SKU?

Certification and utility interconnection requirements must be checked for the exact SKU and installation. Confirm the required model with your installer and local authority before ordering for a grid-connected project.
