VICTRON ENERGY

Cyrix-Li-ct 12/24V 120A Battery Combiner

Use a compatible battery management system to control the connection between a lead-acid starter battery and a suitable LiFePO4 service battery. The Cyrix-Li-ct 120A combines voltage sensing with an external charge-permission signal for a properly designed 12V or 24V system.

Select the lithium-control version deliberately

This exact CYR010120412 is the Cyrix-Li-ct 12/24V-120A. It differs from the standard Cyrix-ct and from the separate Li-load and Li-charge variants. Match the exact model to the BMS wiring diagram and required switching function. This Li-ct model is not specified for a 48V bank.

Connect a compatible BMS charge-control signal

The control input must be driven appropriately by a compatible BMS. A high input close to battery voltage allows engagement when the voltage conditions are met; a floating or low input disconnects the relay. The BMS is a separate required part of the applicable lithium system and is not included with the combiner.

Understand what the relay does

The combiner joins compatible same-voltage battery banks when both BMS permission and the specified voltage conditions allow charging. The manufacturer describes engagement around 13.4V in a 12V system, or 26.8V in a 24V system. Follow the complete timing and control instructions in the manual instead of using those figures as a substitute for system design.

Plan current control separately

The relay is rated for 120A continuous current at 12V/24V. It does not regulate charging voltage or limit alternator output like a DC-DC battery charger. Check the source’s continuous rating, lithium-battery charge limit, BMS requirements and wiring. A lithium battery’s low resistance can demand substantial current if the charging path is not designed appropriately.

Choose an installation location

The unit measures 46 × 46 × 80mm in height, width and depth and weighs about 0.11kg. Enclosure protection is IP54, and open-state current draw is under 4mA. Follow the manual for mounting, protected terminals, control wiring and fusing. The compact housing does not eliminate the space needed for battery-cable bends and access.

What is included?

One exact Cyrix-Li-ct 12/24V-120A combiner, SKU CYR010120412. The lithium battery, starter battery, compatible BMS, installation cables, fuses and optional control switch are separate. This is a controlled relay component rather than a complete lithium-conversion kit.

Does it replace a lithium BMS?

No. It acts on the appropriate external BMS permission signal and the relay’s own operating conditions. The battery still needs its specified cell protection and charging control. Do not connect the relay as though it could independently evaluate every cell or make any lithium battery safe to charge.

Compare the charging approach before buying

Choose between a BMS-controlled combiner and a suitable DC-DC charger based on the vehicle or charging source, battery requirements, current limits and wiring arrangement. Use the official model-specific diagram and ask Torven Power about the rest of the equipment list before selecting a part from its amp rating alone.
