This exact BAM010700100 model has a supply range of 60–385V DC. It is not suitable for a conventional 12V, 24V or 48V battery bank. Have a qualified installer select the monitor, shunt enclosure, wiring and protection for the actual high-voltage system.

See charging and consumption together

The monitor integrates net current passing through the shunt to estimate the battery’s state of charge. The display also provides useful operating information such as voltage, current, consumed amp-hours and time-to-go. Estimates depend on correct battery-capacity settings, charge synchronization and the actual battery condition. They are planning information rather than a guarantee of runtime for a particular appliance.

Install the shunt where it can measure every DC path

The included shunt is rated 500A/50mV and uses M10 connection bolts. Arrange the battery-side and system-side wiring as shown in the manual so charging sources and loads are measured through the shunt. A bypass path can make the displayed state of charge misleading. Select main battery cables and circuit protection separately for the installation; the included communication cable is not a high-current battery cable.

Choose your local connection

Bluetooth is not built into this model. A compatible VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle is an optional separate purchase for supported local wireless access. A suitable VE.Direct-to-USB interface is another separate connection option. VE.Direct supports compatible wired system integration. Remote VRM access requires suitable GX equipment, the appropriate cable and internet access; these items are not included.

Monitor one battery bank

This listing supplies one monitor and one shunt for one battery bank. It does not provide the selectable second-battery, temperature or midpoint input found on other BMV variants. Choose the model around the actual measurement requirements, rather than assuming every monitor in the BMV family has the same inputs.

Fit the display into a protected location

The flush-mount display has a round 63mm front, a 69 × 69mm square bezel and a 52mm-diameter body that is 31mm deep. The head is rated IP55 but is not intended for outdoor use. Protect the shunt and connections as required by their installation instructions. The operating-temperature range is -40°C to +50°C. Allow access to the rear cable and display controls when planning the cutout.

What comes with this monitor?

One exact BAM010700100 monitor, the specified 500A/50mV shunt in the high-voltage shunt-box arrangement, a 10m six-core RJ12 display cable and a fused positive supply lead. The battery bank, main battery cables, GX device, optional interfaces and any optional temperature sensor are separate. The manufacturer image may show the display head; consult the included-equipment details when planning the installation.

Does it charge or protect the battery?

No. A BMV is a measuring and monitoring device. The battery still needs suitable charging equipment, fuses and any required BMS. Its control relay is rated 60V/1A and must be used within its control-circuit limits; it is not a high-current battery disconnect. Correct synchronization and settings are part of commissioning the monitor.
