VICTRON ENERGY

BlueSolar MPPT 150/60-MC4 Solar Charge Controller

Up to 60A of MPPT solar charging with VE.Direct monitoring options. Match the 150V PV limit, battery voltage and connections to your installation.

Choose solar charging around your battery system

The SCC010060300 Victron BlueSolar MPPT 150/60-MC4 supplies up to 60A of battery charging from a compatible solar array. It combines maximum power point tracking with a VE.Direct interface for compatible monitoring accessories, making it a useful building block for an RV, marine or off-grid solar installation. Select the controller around the complete panel string and battery design, rather than choosing from panel wattage alone.

Plan the MC4 input arrangement

This is the MC4 version, with 2 pairs of PV connectors. The connectors are internally paralleled to one MPPT tracker. They do not provide 2 independently controlled trackers for unrelated panel arrays. Each MC4 connector has a 30A maximum. Review string matching, shading, connector compatibility and protective devices with the installer before connecting the panels.

Check voltage in the coldest conditions

The maximum PV open-circuit voltage is 150V. Calculate the voltage of the entire series string at the lowest expected site temperature, because a panel’s open-circuit voltage rises as it gets colder. The manufacturer also specifies a 145V maximum for startup and operation. The charge-current rating does not permit exceeding the PV voltage limit. Follow the manual for the required PV-to-battery voltage difference at startup and during operation.

Balance panel power and input current

Victron’s nominal panel-power references are 860W at 12V and 1720W at 24V, 2580W at 36V and 3440W at 48V. The maximum PV short-circuit current for this exact model is 50A. Panel power, PV short-circuit current, PV voltage and any connector limits all need to suit the design. The 60A charging rating applies to the battery side; it should not be confused with the permitted solar-input current.

Match battery voltage and charging settings

The supported battery selection is 12V / 24V / 48V automatic; 36V manual. Set the charging profile, current and temperature behavior to the battery manufacturer’s instructions. Lithium batteries may require a separate compatible BMS and coordinated charger control. A lithium charging preset does not replace the battery’s required protection equipment.

Choose how you want to monitor charging

Bluetooth is not built into this BlueSolar controller. Local wireless use requires a compatible VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle, sold separately. A suitable VE.Direct wired connection is another supported option. This exact model does not provide VE.Can ports. Remote VRM monitoring requires suitable GX equipment, the appropriate connection and internet access. Monitoring hardware, communication cables and optional displays are separate purchases; this listing supplies the controller.

Reserve space and protect the connections

The unit measures 215 × 250 × 95mm in height, width and depth and weighs approximately 3kg. The electronics are rated IP43 and the connection area IP22. Use a protected indoor location and follow the manual for mounting orientation, ventilation, clearance and wiring sequence. The operating range is -30°C to +60°C, with full rated output specified to 40°C. These ratings do not make exposed terminals suitable for unrestricted outdoor installation.

Package and buying questions

What is included?

One exact SCC010060300 BlueSolar solar charge controller. Solar panels, battery, installation wiring, protective devices, inverter and optional monitoring equipment are separate.

Will it power household appliances directly?

No. This is a DC solar battery charge controller. Household AC loads need a separate compatible inverter sized for the running and starting requirements of those appliances.

How do I compare it with another controller?

Compare supported battery voltage, cold-weather PV voltage, PV short-circuit current, charging current, connection style and monitoring requirements. A higher charging-current number by itself does not establish a suitable replacement.
