MANUAL BATTERY ISOLATION
Victron Battery Switch ON/OFF 275A
A compact manual battery switch for appropriately designed DC battery systems up to 48V nominal.
Disconnect a compatible battery circuit
Victron VBS127010010 provides manual ON/OFF isolation between a battery and compatible DC loads or charge sources. Its 275A continuous DC rating must be supported by the installation's wiring, terminations and circuit protection.
Choose surface or rear panel mounting
The switch supports surface or rear panel mounting and has removable side panels for cable entry. The removable operating knob helps provide isolation when the system is unattended or being serviced. Follow the supplied mounting template for the delivered unit.
Identify the circuit clearly
The manufacturer's package includes the battery switch, instruction booklet with mounting template, an interchangeable label sticker sheet and four mounting screws. Select the label appropriate to the circuit. Battery, cables, cable lugs and external overcurrent protection are separate.
Operate only after shutting down the circuit
Stop the engine and turn off all loads and charging sources before turning this switch on or off. Victron's current online manual warns that it is not rated for making or breaking current under load. Switching under load can damage or weld the contacts; disconnecting a battery while an alternator is charging can damage the alternator.
Plan the wiring with your installer
The switch has M10 terminals and a recommended tightening torque of 8Nm. The manufacturer's manual specifies 120mm² (4/0 AWG) cable at the terminals to meet the switch's current rating. Select protection and installation details for the complete system. The switch does not replace a fuse, circuit breaker or battery management system.
