Frequently asked questions

Does 200A mean the inverter can back up 200A of loads?
No. The 200A figure is the continuous grid pass-through rating. During an outage, supported loads are limited by the inverter’s 12kW output, surge capability, battery power, and system design.
Can this inverter export solar power to the grid?
It has grid-support certification, but export requires the exact approved configuration, permits, utility interconnection agreement, protection settings, and AHJ approval.
Can one unit produce 120/208V three phase?
No. A three-phase arrangement requires multiple correctly configured units and an engineered design. One unit is positioned for 120/240V split-phase service.
Is the standalone SGS-12K18MAX UL 9540 certified?
No standalone UL 9540 claim is made. UL 9540 applies to exact complete energy-storage-system combinations; SunGoldPower uses SGE suffixes for specific paired ESS configurations.
Is it HECO listed?
Torven should not claim HECO qualification without finding the exact model on the current utility list. The verified documentation supports UL 1741 SB / IEEE 1547 and CEC grid-support positioning, not HECO.
