Charge a 12V house battery from the road or up to 400W of solar.

The Renogy DCC30S 12V 30A Dual-Input DC-DC Charger combines alternator charging and MPPT solar charging for mobile power systems. It supports traditional and smart alternators, common lead-acid profiles and lithium batteries.

System fit

Confirm alternator type, panel Voc and both battery chemistries.

The system voltage is 12V, the service-battery range is 9–16V and solar input must remain below 30V. Cable gauge, fuse size, grounding and ignition-signal wiring must follow the G3/G4 manual for the installed run lengths.

Solar inputMaximum PV input is 400W and 30V. Many '24V nominal' panels exceed this Voc and are not suitable.
Vehicle inputTraditional alternator input is listed at 13.2–16V; smart alternator input is 12–16V. Correct D+/IGN logic is installation-specific.

It can manage both sources, but total house-battery output remains limited to 30A and follows the charger’s operating logic.

Can I use a high-voltage residential panel?

Usually not. This model lists a 30V maximum PV input, so verify the panel’s cold-weather Voc before connecting it.

Does it support smart alternators?

Yes, when wired and configured according to Renogy’s smart-alternator instructions and the vehicle manufacturer’s requirements.

Is Bluetooth included?

Not with Torven’s charger-only G3 SKU unless the selected option explicitly lists a module.
