Compact 50W solar for supported curved surfaces

Fit a lightweight 50W laminate where a small rigid panel cannot sit flat.

The Renogy RNG-50DB-H is a compact flexible monocrystalline panel for small RV, marine, shed, sensor and maintenance-charging systems. Its frameless laminate weighs about 3.1 lb and can follow a supported gentle curve within Renogy's documented limit.

Why this Renogy product

Useful solar input for narrow and lightly loaded roofs

Flexible profileRenogy markets up to 248 degrees of curvature for a properly supported installation.
Low weightAt roughly 3.1 lb, it is 60% lighter than the rigid counterpart cited by Renogy.
Outdoor constructionRenogy lists an IP68 junction box and IP67 solar connectors on the current version.

System fit

Mount it as a supported laminate, not a foldable mat.

Renogy's exact G3 data sheet lists 28.0 × 18.1 × 0.2 in, 20.3V Vmp, 2.47A Imp, 24.3V Voc and 2.75A Isc. Use those values with the full array's cold-weather voltage, parallel current and controller limits.

Physical supportUse a smooth, compatible and ventilated mounting surface; avoid sharp bends, repeated flexing, foot traffic and concentrated fastener stress.
Array designAdd series voltage and parallel current across the full array, including cold-weather Voc, before choosing a controller and protection.

In the box

Common questions

Buyer FAQ

Can it connect directly to a battery?

No. Use a compatible solar charge controller and properly sized wiring and protection.

Can I roll it up after each trip?

No. Flexible panels are intended to conform to a supported curve during installation, not repeated rolling or folding.

Can I use it on a boat?

Renogy markets marine and outdoor use, but the installation still needs compatible materials, sealed penetrations, ventilation and protection from abrasion and foot traffic.

How much energy will it make per day?

That depends on sun hours, temperature, orientation, shade, dirt and system losses. The 50W nameplate is an STC laboratory rating, not a daily energy guarantee.
