Each RBT4850LFPSH provides 2.4kWh of nominal LiFePO4 storage for a compatible 48V off-grid or backup-power system. Its BMS manages cell protection, while the internal heater warms the cells before cold-weather charging when sufficient charge current is available. Up to eight matching batteries may be connected in parallel for 19.2kWh of nominal storage; series connection is not supported for this exact model.
Automatic low-temperature heating
The 200W heater starts below 32°F and stops after the battery rises above 41°F, provided each battery receives stable charge current above 3.5A.
50A continuous current
The battery supports up to 50A continuous charging and discharging, plus a 100A discharge peak for five seconds under Renogy's stated limits.
Parallel expansion to 19.2kWh
Build a bank with as many as eight matching batteries in parallel using equal-length cabling and correctly sized protection.
Smart BMS—not app monitoring
The word “Smart” refers to protective battery management. Renogy lists no built-in Bluetooth and no communication port on this exact battery.

- One battery's 50A continuous limit is approximately 2.4kW DC at nominal voltage before inverter losses
- Use compatible 48V-class charging equipment set for the 42–55.5V operating range and 54V charge cutoff
- Parallel only: use matching batteries, voltage-balance before connection and use equal-length cables
- Size the fuse, disconnect, conductors and terminals for the designed bank current; do not rely on the BMS as system protection
Sizing it for an inverterA single battery cannot continuously supply a 3,500W inverter at full output because its continuous discharge limit is 50A. High-output inverter systems may require multiple matched batteries and a professionally designed bank.

Frequently asked questions
Does “Smart” mean it has Bluetooth or app monitoring?
No. This exact model uses a smart protective BMS, but Renogy specifies no built-in Bluetooth and no communication port.
How many batteries can be connected?
Up to eight matching batteries may be connected in parallel for as much as 19.2kWh of nominal capacity. Do not connect this model in series.
How does the self-heater work?
Each battery needs stable charging current above 3.5A. The heater starts below 32°F and stops after the battery temperature rises above 41°F.
Can I mix it with another battery?
Do not combine different chemistries, capacities, voltages, brands or models. Parallel batteries should be voltage-balanced, use equal-length cabling and follow the current Renogy manual.
Is one battery enough for a 3,500W inverter?
Not at the inverter's full continuous output. One battery is limited to 50A continuous—approximately 2.4kW DC at nominal voltage before conversion losses.
Can it replace a 48V lead-acid bank?
Potentially, but the charger, inverter settings, voltage range, cabling and protection devices must all support this exact LiFePO4 battery. Verify the full system before replacement.
