Pure sine 12V power with an automatic transfer path

Run 2,000W continuously and move between shore power and battery in 20ms or less.

The RICH SOLAR NOVA 2K12 is a 2,000W pure sine wave inverter for 12V RV, van, trailer and mobile power systems. A built-in 120V transfer switch, selectable Normal and Fast modes, LCD status display and 4,000W five-second surge rating combine conversion and source switching in one chassis.

A 2,000W inverter is a high-current 12V load

At full output, DC current is well above 150A after conversion losses. The battery bank, BMS, conductors, lugs, fuse or breaker and disconnect must all support continuous current and surge without excessive voltage drop.

RICH SOLAR NOVA 2K12 transfer inverter feature overview

Why it stands out

One chassis for clean AC power and source transfer

Pure sine outputPublished THD below 5% supports sensitive 120V electronics when every load and surge stays within the inverter limits.
Built-in transfer switchNormal and Fast modes switch between compatible AC input and battery power in 20 milliseconds or less under the stated conditions.
Useful system visibilityThe LCD and LED indicators show operating mode, warning and fault information while RS232/RS485 ports support compatible communication.

System fit

Build the 12V side before choosing the AC loads.

Confirm battery chemistry, BMS current, bank capacity, low-voltage settings, cable length, overcurrent protection, grounding, ventilation and every appliance surge. The 120V output does not supply native 240V loads.

Best-fit systemsRVs, vans, trailers and compact backup systems with a robust 12V bank and up to 2,000W of planned 120V loads.
AC integrationHave the transfer input, output circuit, neutral and grounding arrangement installed to the current manual and applicable electrical code.

Battery cables, fuse or breaker, disconnect, drip shield, remote accessories, AC wiring and installation hardware are separate unless explicitly listed.

Product confidence

UL458 compliance is listed for the NOVA 2K12

RICH SOLAR lists UL458 compliance and FCC Part 15 EMC compliance for this model. Installation conditions, environmental limits and warranty coverage follow the current manual and written terms.

Common questions

NOVA 2K12 sizing questions

Can one 100Ah battery run the inverter at full power?

Battery amp-hours alone do not answer that. Confirm the battery's continuous and surge discharge current, BMS limits, state of charge, cable loss and the inverter's low-voltage behavior.

Will the transfer switch act like a UPS?

Fast mode is listed at 20ms or less, but suitability for a specific computer, medical device or server depends on that equipment's ride-through requirements. Critical loads need a system-level review.

Can it power 240V appliances?

No. The listed output is 120VAC. Native 240V loads require a different inverter architecture.

What size cable and fuse should I use?

Use the current manual, actual run length, terminal limits and local code. A 2,000W 12V inverter draws very high current, so generic cable-size rules are not enough.
