Higher-output 12V-class solar

Put 220 watts into a fixed panel footprint built for mobile and off-grid roofs.

The RICH SOLAR MEGA 220 is a rigid monocrystalline panel for RVs, cabins, boats, sheds and other planned solar arrays. Its anodized aluminum frame, predrilled mounting points and attached solar leads are designed for permanent installation with a compatible controller, wiring and mounting system.

RICH SOLAR MEGA 220 panel construction and performance features

Built for an exposed array

A rigid frame, certified module construction and tested mechanical loads.

Tempered-glass protectionA 3.2 mm anti-reflective coated glass face and anodized aluminum frame protect the module.
Mechanical-load testingRICH SOLAR lists 5400 Pa front-load and 2400 Pa rear-load ratings under its test conditions.
Module certificationsThe current product page lists UL 61730, IEC 61215 and CSA C22.2 certification standards.

System fit

Design the array from cold-weather voltage and controller limits.

Each panel is rated at 18.3V Vmp, 12.0A Imp, 22.1V Voc and 12.5A Isc. When using multiple panels, calculate series-string open-circuit voltage at the site’s lowest expected temperature and parallel current with the required safety factors before selecting a controller, inverter or combiner.

12V battery chargingUse a compatible solar charge controller. Never connect the panel directly to a battery.
Power-station chargingConfirm the station’s PV voltage, current, wattage and connector requirements; an adapter may be required.

Installation planning

What is attached—and what the installation still needs

  • 1 × RICH SOLAR MEGA 220 rigid panel
  • Pair of attached 12 AWG, 4 ft panel leads
  • IP67-rated junction box and solar connectors
  • 14 predrilled frame mounting holes

Mounts, roof sealant, extension cable, charge controller, disconnects, fuses or breakers, battery and inverter are selected for the installation and are not listed as included.

Product confidence

RICH SOLAR warranty coverage

RICH SOLAR lists a 25-year output warranty and a 10-year workmanship warranty for the MEGA 220. Eligibility, degradation terms and remedies are governed by RICH SOLAR’s current written warranty.

Common questions

MEGA 220 FAQ

Does this include mounting brackets?

No mounting hardware is listed as included. Choose a mount approved for the structure, environment, panel dimensions and wind or snow conditions.

Can it connect directly to a 12V battery?

No. Use a solar charge controller compatible with the battery chemistry and the array’s voltage and current, plus correctly sized wiring and overcurrent protection.

Can I connect more than one panel?

Yes, when the complete series-parallel design remains within every controller, wire, connector and protection limit. Calculate cold-weather Voc and array Isc before installation.

Will it always produce 220 watts?

No. 220W is the rated output under standard test conditions. Actual production changes with sunlight, angle, temperature, shading, wiring and connected equipment.
