High-capacity 24V house power

5.89kWh in one heated Group 8D battery.

The Epoch 24230A-H Essential Series delivers 25.6V, 230Ah of deep-cycle LiFePO4 storage for compatible 24V marine, RV, solar and off-grid systems. Bluetooth monitoring, internal heating and a 200A continuous-output rating make it a straightforward path to a serious 24V house bank.

Why this battery stands out

A large 24V bank without pairing two 12V batteries

One-battery 24V architecture

Store 5,888Wh nominal energy at 25.6V without a two-battery series link, reducing the number of cases and interconnects in a high-capacity 24V build.

200A continuous output

Support demanding 24V loads and compatible inverters when cable size, voltage drop, protection and surge requirements are engineered around the battery's 200A continuous limit.

Bluetooth monitoring

Use Epoch's compatible iOS or Android app to check battery status without exposing terminals or opening an equipment compartment.

Internal heating

The BMS can route incoming charge energy to internal heaters before cell charging resumes in freezing conditions, subject to the current temperature and charging limits.

Made for 24V deep-cycle loads

  • Marine house systems: support electronics, lighting, pumps and onboard accessories in a correctly protected 24V bank.
  • Compatible 24V trolling motors: match the motor's continuous and peak-current requirements before installation.
  • RV and overland builds: run 24V DC loads or a compatible inverter with less current than an equivalent-power 12V system.
  • Solar and off-grid storage: pair with a programmable 24V LiFePO4 charger, inverter/charger or solar controller.

Fit and system check

Design around the verified 200A continuous rating

Deep-cycle only: the 300A figure is a 10-second peak, not a continuous rating. This model is not intended for engine cranking unless Epoch confirms the exact application.

  • Physical size is 20.55 × 9.45 × 8.60 in and weight is 84 lb. Confirm tray, hold-down, handles, cable bends and terminal clearance.
  • Epoch lists a 200A maximum charge-current rating and recommends no more than 100A for normal charging.
  • Recommended settings are 28.4-28.8V bulk/absorption, float disabled when possible, equalization disabled and temperature compensation disabled.
  • IP54 means dust-protected and splash-resistant; it does not make the battery suitable for submersion, pressure washing or unprotected outdoor exposure.
  • For multi-battery banks, follow the latest Epoch manual for permitted series/parallel count, matched state of charge, branch fusing and cable balance.

Manufacturer protection

4,000+ cycles and an 11-year Epoch warranty

Epoch lists 4,000+ cycles and an 11-year manufacturer warranty for the 24230A-H. Coverage, registration, installation and claim requirements are governed by Epoch's current written warranty terms.

Common questions

Can this battery start an engine?

Treat it as a deep-cycle battery, not a starting battery. Choose a cranking-rated model or obtain written compatibility confirmation from Epoch for the exact engine.

What size inverter can it support?

Inverter sizing depends on DC input current, startup surge, efficiency, low-voltage cutoff, cable length and other loads. Design around the 200A continuous battery limit and have the full system checked.

Can I leave float charging enabled?

Epoch's current data sheet prefers float disabled. If the charger requires float, use only the supported 26.6-27.2V range and verify the latest manual.

How much runtime will 5.89kWh provide?

Divide usable watt-hours by the average load in watts for a first estimate, then account for inverter loss, temperature, wiring, BMS limits and duty cycle. The Torven Power Planner can help with a first pass.
