The RICH SOLAR RS-G05 cable-entry plate packages red and black tin-plated copper conductors in a flame-retardant polypropylene housing. The current manufacturer ratings list 37.7A continuous current, 50A maximum current and a 600V wire rating for a correctly designed RV, boat, cabin or off-grid installation.

Does IP68 make the whole roof penetration waterproof?

No. The named entry component is rated when correctly assembled; the cutout, mounting holes and housing-to-roof joint still depend on proper installation.

Should the entry face forward or backward?

Follow the current mounting instructions and orient it to limit wind-driven water, protect cable bend radius and maintain drainage and service access.
