The RICH SOLAR BRAVO LEGEND 40 is a PWM solar charge controller for RVs, boats, vans, trailers and compact off-grid systems. It supports 12/24V auto battery architecture, up to 40A of solar current and a published maximum solar input of under 55V.

Match current, voltage and environment first
Published power guidance is 600W at 12V or 1,200W at 24V. Unlike an MPPT controller, a PWM controller is not intended to step a high-voltage string down to the battery. Match the panel operating voltage, battery voltage and controller limits in the current manual.

Treat the array, battery and load output as separate circuits.
Plan around 6.46 × 4.07 × 1.85 in, 0.86 lb, ventilation, service access and the IP30 environmental limit. Confirm panel voltage, charge current, conductor size, terminal torque, overcurrent protection, grounding arrangement and any optional temperature sensor before wiring.

BRAVO LEGEND 40 system-design questions
Can I connect a high-voltage residential panel?
Not unless its full operating and open-circuit voltage remain inside the controller's published under 55V limit and match the PWM system architecture. Do not choose from wattage alone.
Will it charge lithium batteries?
Published support includes sealed, GEL, flooded and lithium batteries. Confirm the exact lithium profile, low-temperature rules and BMS behavior before selecting the setting.
Is PWM or MPPT better for my project?
PWM can be a practical choice for a small, voltage-matched array. MPPT is generally more flexible when array voltage is substantially above battery voltage or maximizing harvest matters.
Does the controller include every cable and fuse?
No. Size conductors, disconnects and overcurrent protection from maximum circuit current, run length, terminal limits and local requirements.
