Manual battery isolation with high short-duration current ratings

Switch up to 275A continuously on a compatible 48V DC circuit.

The RICH SOLAR RS-BS275 is a manual on/off battery switch for RV, marine, vehicle and off-grid DC systems. It carries 275A continuously, 455A for five minutes and 1,250A for ten seconds at up to 48VDC through M10 (3/8-inch) studs.

A battery switch does not replace overcurrent protection

Use a correctly rated fuse or breaker for the conductors and source. The switch provides manual isolation; it does not automatically open an overload or short circuit.

Why it stands out

Clear physical isolation for service and storage

Removable knobRemove the knob in the off position for an added layer of service isolation and tamper resistance.
Flexible mountingSurface and panel mounting options plus removable cable windows support a cleaner high-current installation.
Ignition-protected enclosureThe reinforced-nylon housing meets ISO 8846 ignition-protection requirements for appropriately designed engine-room installations.

System fit

Match the switch to the full current path.

Confirm continuous current, overlapping surge, cable and lug ratings, stud size, torque, enclosure clearances, cable support and voltage. Place overcurrent protection as required by the source and installation standard.

Strong use casesBattery-bank isolation for RVs, boats, vehicles and off-grid DC systems inside the 48V and 275A continuous limits.
Complete the circuitAdd appropriately sized conductors, 3/8-inch lugs, source-side fuse or breaker, boots or covers, mounting support and labels.

Product confidence

Use the current switch instructions and torque values

Current capacity depends on proper conductor size, lug preparation, clean contact surfaces, torque, ventilation and operation within the published duty ratings. Warranty remedies follow RICH SOLAR's written terms.

Common questions

RS-BS275 circuit questions

Can it replace my battery fuse?

No. A switch provides manual isolation; use a correctly rated fuse or breaker for automatic overcurrent protection.

Can I switch the inverter while it is under full load?

Do not interrupt high current without following the inverter and switch procedures. Shut down loads and charging sources before normal isolation unless the instructions explicitly allow otherwise.

Will it work on a 48V battery bank?

The switch is rated to 48VDC. Confirm actual maximum system voltage, continuous current, surge and fault protection all fit.

What cable lugs fit?

The switch uses M10 (3/8-inch) studs. The lug barrel must also fit the conductor gauge and be crimped, supported and insulated correctly.
